At a summons from detective sergeant Frank Malloy, midwife Sarah Brandt arrives at the elegant home of famed magnetic healer Edmund Blackwell to find his wife in labor-and the good doctor dead from an apparent suicide. Edgar Award-nominated author Victoria Thompson writes the Gaslight Mystery series, set in turn-of-the-century New York City and featuring midwife Sarah Brandt. Victoria teaches in the Seton Hill University master's program in writing popular fiction. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and a very spoiled little dog.

Callie Beaulieu has been an actress for several decades. Classically trained, she is predominantly a theater actress, and her work has been seen around the country. Callie recently returned to the US after spending nearly a decade living in the Caribbean. She is a proud member of Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
