This book held a lot of promise, James Patterson and Dolly Parton, what could be better. Everything could have been better. The cast doing the reading were wooden, no emotion, no inflections and they even read the many songs, no singing, nothing. Dolly read her part but she sounded like her false teeth were loose and the lines she read were devoid of any feeling. The story was weak with some drama at the end but the rest was not good at all. Dont spend your money on it, not worth it and if I were James Patterson I'd take my name off the book.

I want to love it because it's Dolly, but it's no better than merely fair. It's formulaic and not hugely engaging. I've noticed this with other Patterson stories and it's only because Dolly's name is on it that I gave it a try. As good as she is as a musician, she's not enough to drag Patterson out of his rut.

Wonderful book that I really enjoyed. The book winds around spinning a tale of hopes and dreams and forgetting the bad times in recent past. James and Dolly have a winner together and I hope they collaborate again!
