About this audiobook

Payne:

In search of: room to rent.

Must ignore the patheticness of a forty-year-old roommate.

Preferably dirt cheap as funds are tight (nonexistent).

There’s nothing sadder than moving back to my hometown newly divorced, homeless, and lost for what my next move is.

When my little brother’s best friend offers me a place to stay in exchange for menial duties, I swallow my pride and jump at the offer.

I need this.

I also need Beau to wear a shirt. And ditch the gray sweatpants. And not leave his door ajar when he’s in compromising positions ...

Beau:

In search of: roommate.

Must be non smoker and non douchebag.

Room payment to be made in meal planning, repairs, and dumb jokes.

Since my career took off, I barely have time to breathe, let alone keep my life in order. I’m naturally chaotic, make terrible decisions, and scare off potential dates with my “weirdness”.

So when Payne gets back into town and needs somewhere to stay, I offer him my spare room with one condition: while he’s staying with me, I need him to help me become date-able.

And while he does that, I can focus on my other plan: ignoring that Payne is the only man I’ve ever wanted to date.

Fabulously Delightful! Great Story & Narration🎧📚🎧 ~ ~ I loved everything about this book, from Saxon James’ wonderful writing style and her originality to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrator who brings it all to life from the pages to your ears. I adored the two lead characters, Payne and Beau, they are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Payne, finds out his husband has been cheating on him, not with one guy but with multiple. He moves back to his hometown and in with his brother and his family, it is a tight fit but Beau, his brother’s friend, suggests he moves into his spare room until he finds a job and his own place. The room comes with a stipulation to help around the apartment. Beau is an author and gets lost in his work and isn’t the tidiest of people. But is Beau doing the right thing asking Payne to move in, he has had a crush on his best friend’s older brother forever, but Payne never saw him that way. I absolutely love these two characters, Payne was caring and understanding of Beau's work habits and needs. Beau gets lost in his own headspace and oblivious to what was going on around him. He is also quirky and is a little insecure with people, especially with dating, which is another thing he wants Payne to help him with. This book is so much more than a friends to lovers or best friend and older brother romance novel. It is a brilliantly plotted story with the perfect balance of drama, humor, witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions, and a wonderful romance. Saxon James, thank you for another fabulously entertaining story and a fun and sometimes emotional rollercoaster ride! 🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Saxon James cast the perfect narrator to bring her story and characters to life. Nick J. Russo is a wonderfully talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. He had a complete understanding of the characters he portrayed, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona, sounding believable in each role he played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. You could hear how much heart he put into his performance as he captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into his performance. He set the perfect tone for the story, handled the back-and-forth dialogue with ease, switched roles effortlessly NJR is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
