This was my first Stephanie Dray novel, and I absolutely loved it and have recommended it to several of my friends. After seeing Hamilton after it came out on Disney+, I have been craving to learn more about the Hamiltons, and this novel helped satisfy that. What I loved most about this novel is stated pretty plainly in the Authors' note. It is stated that the novel is based largely on historical evidence. From letters and various documents, the authors constructed narrative that is very believable. Of course, they took some liberties making the story their own, but it didn't hinder the history behind the story of Eliza Hamilton.

She holds a doctoral degree in early American history from The College of William and Mary, published two non-fiction books on early America, and most recently held the position of Associate Professor of History at the U.S. Naval Academy before transitioning to a full-time career writing fiction.
