This book was first published in 1996 under the title Rider on the Storm and Other Bits of Barrett. It was a one-off book that got under the radar and a lot of Robert G. Barrett′s readers weren′t aware of it. Fifteen years later, to mark the 25th anniversary of the first Les Norton novel, this collection is being republished. It′s the original stories re-edited, as well as some classic articles and columns on a range of subjects such as publishing, fame, dates and the dole. Plus two brand new Les Norton short stories and a feature article, ′Bowling for Bukowski′, which is about the last three years of turmoil in the author′s life. Robert G. Barrett is one of Australia's top-selling contemporary writers and one of this country's most popular literary figures. He has tried his hand at everything from acting to being a butcher, but now prefers to concentrate on writing. He is the author of sixteen books, including Mud Crab Boogie, The Wind and the Monkey, Goodoo Goodoo and Leaving Bondi.

David has been narrating audiobooks for over 25 years, working on a number of award-winning titles. He has also worked extensively in theatre, radio, film and television, most notably appearing in all four seasons of The Secret Life of Us. When not lending his voice to books he is employed as an archivist, audio producer and librarian.
