American author Kate Chopin (1850-1904) wrote two published novels and close to one hundred short stories in the late nineteenth century. Most of her fictional works are set in Louisiana, and her best-known stories focus on the lives of sensitive, intelligent omen, often challenging traditional family and social structures of the time. Rebecca Stern has a voice that has been described as warm, expressive, articulate, and sincere. Her forty-plus years as a professional violinist instilled a deep love for the music of language and a passion for performing.
