She sits on the board of a number of gender/family/human rights organizations and is a sought out public speaker addressing a wide range of audiences about identity, gender, beauty, and entrepreneurship. Patterson's beauty companies, Doobop and Georgia by Jodie Patterson, have been recognized by O Magazine, The New York Times, and Vogue, among others. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, where she and her husband raise their five children with love, education, and family solidarity.
