Max-an elderly Paris bookstall owner-is abducted at gunpoint. His friend Hugo Marston, head of security at the U.S. embassy, looks on helplessly, powerless to do anything to stop the kidnapper. Mark Pryor is a former newspaper reporter and felony prosecutor, currently working as a criminal defense attorney in Austin, Texas. He is the author of the Hugo Marston mystery series, set in Paris, London, and Barcelona. He is also the author of the psychological thriller Hollow Man and its sequel, Dominic.
