Malta, April 1942. Max Chadwick is the military officer charged with managing information and maintaining morale on the tiny Mediterranean island, a strategic lynchpin in the war. Mark Mills is the award-winning author of The Whaleboat House, which won the 2004 Crime Writer's Association for Best Novel by a debut author, and The Savage Garden, which was a Richard and Judy Summer Read and #1 bestseller. He graduated from Cambridge University and has lived in both Italy and France. He currently lives with his wife and two children in Oxford.
Robin Sachs was born and raised in London, England, and studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). After RADA, Robin spent time performing everything from Shakespeare to Tom Stoppard and touring various parts of the known world. His British TV appearances include Brideshead Revisited, Upstairs Downstairs, and Rumpole of the Bailey. He is probably best known in America for his role on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as being in several films.
