I love,love,love this Bible. I used to read it to my boys when they were toddlers and they understood it and asked questions. They actually wanted me to read this instead of the childrens books I bought for them. I have told anyone that would listen about this wonderful book, without of course pushing it. If you can't understand the bible like you should and want to... try this one you will love it. God Bless

The text is easy to understand & very refreshing. It has a nice relaxed feeling to it & makes it easy to relate to the Bible & develop a personal relationship to God. The male reader is wonderful & reads the text in the spirit in which it was written. The female reader is awful she sounds snobbish & sounds like she is auditioning to be queen of England. Fortunately she only reads the introductions to each book & the male reader reads the actual bibical text. So minus one star because of her.

About the author

Eugene H. Peterson is a writer, a poet, and a retired pastor. He has authored more than 34 books (not including The Message) and is a contributing editor for Leadership. He is Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia. Eugene also founded Christ Our King Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, Maryland, where he ministered for 29 years. He lives with his wife, Jan, in Montana.
