Newly promoted Detective Chief Inspector Kathy Kolla investigates a series of brutal murders on Hampstead Heath. Barry Maitland was born in Scotland and brought up in London. After studying architecture at Cambridge, he practiced and taught in the UK before moving to Australia where he was Professor of Architecture at the University of Newcastle. He has since retired from the university to pursue his writing. Maitland's first mystery The Marx Sisters was a nominee for the John Creasey Award for Best First Novel and The Malcontenta won the Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Fiction. Barry now writes fiction full time, and lives in the Hunter Valley.

John Voce is a graduate of London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and has worked as an actor in the UK for more than 30 years. In addition to narrating audiobooks, an occupation John loves, he has also appeared in Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, Primeval, Grantchester, Neighbours, Holby City, Miranda and Jonathan Creek. He also voiced Thomas The Tank Engine for a live international tour. He has resided in Melbourne, Australia since 2015.
