This book is the best of best ,I'd wanted to be a pilot when younger but they said I had to know geometry. And of course I thought what could that possibly have to do with flying. Well some 50 years later I discovered I'm not a pimple on a fighter pilots behind. I was influenced around the age of 13 by Dairl Johnson a Navy Fighter Pilot who happened to live next door and had the character that really leaves a lasting impression for the better on you. This book as read by the narrator really adds integrity to the surreal scenarios. Unlike other books the way every detail is read in the audible version puts you right there with detailed descriptions of acronyms and as if you were flying why certain procedures are and were being done. This is the next best thing and I've learned a lot. The audible version is a great buy.

Awesome stories and insight. it kinda hard to follow though. it's seems to be kinda all over the place and not in chronicling order.

About the author

Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Dan Hampton flew 151 combat missions during his twenty years (1986–2006) in the United States Air Force. For his service in the Iraq War, Kosovo conflict, and first Gulf War, Col. Hampton received four Distinguished Flying Crosses with Valor, a Purple Heart, eight Air Medals with Valor, five Meritorious Service medals, and numerous other citations. He is a graduate of the USAF Fighter Weapons School, USN Top Gun School (TOGS), and USAF Special Operations School. A frequent guest analyst on CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC discussing foreign affairs, military, aviation, and intelligence issues, he has published in Aviation History, the Journal of Electronic Defense, Air Force Magazine, Vietnam magazine, and Airpower magazine, and written several classified tactical works for the USAF Weapons Review.
