The air war over Europe during World War II proved that combat in the sky can be even more devastating than combat on the ground. When the war ended, every major city in Germany was virtually destroyed. A German writer admitted that his own nation, in taking up the sword to conquer the world, had "summoned up those bands of furies which raced across the German skies."

Stephen W. Sears is an American historian specializing in the American Civil War. He is a graduate of Oberlin College and was employed as editor of the Educational Department at the American Heritage Publishing Company. Stephan is the author of several books on military history. He resides in Connecticut.

Paul Boehmer is a seasoned actor who has appeared on Broadway, film, and television, including The Thomas Crown Affair and All My Children. Coinciding with another of his passions, sci-fi, Paul has been cast in various roles in many episodes of Star Trek.
