A quick review, no need for a description of the story, what happens, the plot etc. There's the blurb on the cover and other reviews for all that. I purchased this an audiobook, narrated by Scott Brick, who does an excellent job of bringing the story and characters to life as always. I've read a few series featuring current or ex-assassins, covert agents CIA operatives etc and enjoy this kind of genre but Gregg's Orphan X series takes it to a whole new level. Not only is Evan Smoak/Orphan X highly trained, immensely skilled and a dangerous, ruthless killer, he's also a vodka enthusiast, grows his own herbs and has a heart, helping those who need it even though his life may be in peril while doing so. Superb writing style, great pace, lots of detail and descriptions without becoming bogged down in unnecessary filler. I've read the previous books in sequence which I highly recommend and have enjoyed them all. In this one a new character. Joey, is introduced and I'm hoping we haven't seen the last of her as she interacts beautifully with Evan. Looking forward to the next in the series which is already on my wishlist.

Absolutely fantastic book, well written and the voice is now so synonymous with Orphan X they simply cannot use anyone else. The cliff hanger at the end is so hard to take because i have to wait 11 months for the next one now! :(
