always wanted to read this series since I was in high-school (2009) just now getting around to it. very good book and I didn't get lost very easily.

I first found this book back in 5th grade and fell in love with it, I finished the series that year and it was amazing. imagine my shock the next year discovering the "Heroes Of Olympus" series and catching up with it at Book 3 "The Mark Of Athena" and then having to wait for the final 2 books to be written and published. it was absolute torture lol. I was going through a lot during that time, dealing with ADHD, autism, and undiagnosed dyslexia. but writers like Mr. Riordan and My other favorite author Louis L'Amour wrote their tales so well I pressed on to the end no matter how hard it was and to com back to this series a decade later it just feels like reuniting with an old friend. it amazed me how much I forgot but also how much I remembered, Luke's betrayal had lost it's sting over the years partially due to the tainting of it's memory by the film adaptation leaving it mangled. I look forward to completing it once again and once I have I shall move to THOO and the Kane Chronicles.
