About this audiobook

Read by Liz Cheney with 50+ audio source material clips included, Oath and Honor is a gripping first-hand account from inside the halls of Congress as Donald Trump and his enablers betrayed the American people and the Constitution--leading to the violent attack on our Capitol on January 6th, 2021—by the House Republican leader who dared to stand up to it.

In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.   Liz Cheney, one of the few Republican officials to take a stand against these efforts, witnessed the attack first-hand, and then helped lead the Congressional Select Committee investigation into how it happened. In Oath and Honor, she tells the story of this perilous moment in our history, those who helped Trump spread the stolen election lie, those whose actions preserved our constitutional framework, and the risks we still face.

I was born, raised, and educated in Wyoming. Congressman Liz Cheney represents everything good in the people of this great state. Be prepared for an opportunity to bask in the warmth and security of our American flag as Ms. Cheney refreshes our understanding of our democratic system, explains in exquisite detail about the actions of the man WE elected once, not twice as President of the United States. Ms. Cheney is even and concise as she hands us much more details about the factual actions that nearly ended our democratic system of government. She goes into detail about the enablers, including the pseudo news from Fox and other talking heads. She explains the peril facing all Americans. The book taught me more about our government and gave me new respect for its value. Thank you Elizabeth Cheney!

Listening to history unfold was moving and stirred my heart deeply. The horrific insurrection is a stain on our nation's history, but a vote for our Democratic Republic can prove that We The People are willing to make the choice to save Our Constitution. Thank you, Congresswoman Cheney!! While we are politically different, I admire your strength and honor to fight for us all. The January 6th Committee work will find its place in history among our nation's most honorable work. God bless you.

This book is excellent. It should be mandatory reading material for anyone who is thinking of voting on the upcoming elections. It's unbelievable how short memory humanity is and how easy it becomes to fool people and destroy values and principles. But there are still people out there with the courage to say and what is right and correct. After this recount of events I find it even more unbelievable that the next elections will have the same cast or worse, many with better positions than before.

About the author

An attorney and national security specialist, Cheney previously worked in Eastern Europe, Russia, Ukraine and the Middle East while serving in the State Department during the George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush administrations.
