About the author

Because of a prophecy, Shakarian's immediate ancestors left their Armenian homeland shortly before the genocide by the Turks and fled to Los Angelos. There, after initial difficulties during the Great Depression, Demos' father Issak became the greatest dairy farmer of his time. Demos grew up in the company and the Armenian community. He developed a very special relationship with God with ups and downs. With many helpers and miracles, he built the world's largest association of professionals and entrepreneurs out of a vision. So millions of people could be touched personally. The reporter couple John and Elizabeth Sherill accompanied Demos Shakarian for many years and together wrote the book "The happiest people on earth" in 1976, which became a world bestseller.
