3 ½ stars I really felt the emotions from this book! They came through so clearly for Elena and Dmitri, I cared about them and what they feeling, or how they were acting, because of those feelings. Some of the story was fanciful, but the way it played out and affected the characters was so much more important than plot points.

This is an excellent dark romance. This is the fifth book in the Surrender Series. I haven't listened to the first books in the series yet. The prologue is grippingly breathtaking. Elena and Dimitri's dark romance is enthralling, emotional, and captivating, filled with secrets, danger, action, and twists and turns. Elena is a strong survivor, brave, and smart. Dimitri is enigmatic, alpha, dominant, handsome, and protective. The supporting characters are intriguing. Zachary Johnson and Vivienne LaRue did an outstanding job with the narration. I highly recommend this audiobook. Looking forward for more in the series. I received this audiobook at no-cost from Audiobook Empire. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
