About this audiobook

Journalist Nellie Wilkerson has spent the bulk of the war in London, photographing pilots taking off and landing&;and she&;s bored. She jumps at the chance to go to France, where the Allied forces recently landed. She enlists Jean-Paul Breslau of the French underground to take her to the frontlines. On the journey, they come upon an orphanage where nuns shelter children with disabilities. Can they help save them before the Nazis come to liquidate it?

Nellie Wilkerson is a photo journalist hoping to get to France to take some amazing shots on the frontlines. This is a really amazing story and it takes me back to some of my own mother's wartime experiences. The story of how she comes to help special needs-children in need is both heart warming and heart wrenching. It's really an emotional story for those who enjoy historical fiction. The story is based on facts and is filled with action. There are no dull moments and it is a book you won't want to miss. I had a hard time putting it down. Having written my own mother's story, this one rings very believable and credible and absolutely riveting. I highly recommend it! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour publishing. All thoughts are my own.
