About this audiobook

This program features a new introduction read by Daniel Goleman and a bonus dialogue between the author and Jon Kabat-Zinn.

It is the tenth anniversary since the first publication of Daniel Goleman's groundbreaking bestseller, Emotional Intelligence which maps the territory where IQ meets EQ, where we apply what we know to how we live. Spending over a year on the New York Times bestseller list, Emotional Intelligence provided the evidence for what many successful people already knew: being smart isn't just a matter of mastering facts; it's a matter of mastering your own emotions and understanding the emotions of the people around you.

Unless you are a medical student looking for detailed material on the structure of the brain, you don't stand a chance getting more than 10% into this book. I was skeptical to purchase this, and should have gone with my gut. The first part of the book is simply the author rehashing other people's work. Who are these people? How do I know they weren't the kids getting C's and D's in med school? I do not recommend this book.

This book is a scientific/social study of 'Why E.I. sometimes matters more than I.Q.' NOT how to manage or recognize your OWN emotional intelligence. If you want to learn about yourself or develop skills related to emotional intelligence this is the wrong book for you.
