About this audiobook

The New York Times–bestselling Razorland saga from Ann Aguirre continues.

Since the war ended, Tegan has dreamed of an epic journey, so when she has the opportunity to sign on as ship's doctor, she can't wait. It's past time to chart her course. Millie Faraday, the kindest girl in the free territories, also yearns to outrun her reputation, and warrior-poet James Morrow would follow Tegan to the ends of the earth.

Their company seems set, but fate brings one more to their number. Tegan will battle incredible odds while aiding Szarok, the Uroch vanguard, who has ventured forth to save his people. Szarok is strange and beautiful, like a flower that blooms only in the dark. She shouldn't allow him close, as such a relationship is both alien and forbidden. But through stormy seas and strange lands, she will become stronger than she ever knew.

Ok I loved the first 3 books of the Razorlan Series. But this book fell way to short to me, Tegan falling in love with Zarok, just wasnt doing it for me. Zarok technically was of a species comming back from being man eating monsters. Now being able to think, having grey skin and hairless. But Tegan found that atractive I guess... oh you just ate a raw animal, lets practice kissing. I was uneasy throughout the romance, and poor James was really pushed aside. But at least they introduced Millie to be his rebound, I guess. The guy deserved better especially being as caring and concerned as he was. The world building was ok tho, they expanded past the river to new countries that I wish they expanded on more, I loved that Duece and Fade finally settled down. All the rest was good, but half the book was Tegan and Zarok romance. Could have been better.

The other books in The Razorland series are FANTASTIC. I haven't even read this full book (only half) but it's fallen very short so far. Spoliers: Tegan falls in love with one of the freaks (only listened to the audio books so I'm not sure how to spell their actual species name lol) Szarok (I think that's how it's spelled) which made me very uncomfortable. While his species came from humans, they.... aren't human anymore?? So it boardlines beastiality which is always a no in my book. They might show up more later in the book but in the first half Deuce and Fade aren't in the book hardly at all and I would have liked to see more of them. Millie is obnoxious. James deserved better and let me tell you, if I had a man half as dedicated to me as James is to Tegan I definitely wouldn't be falling in love with a bald, grey-skinned creature that feasts on raw animals. Just saying.

About the author

She also writes the romantic science fiction series about Sirantha Jax, starting with Grimspace, as well as urban fantasy and paranormal romance. As Ava Gray, she writes paranormal romantic suspense.
