Я открыл для себя Америку в 2001 г., когда отправился в первую этнографическую экспедицию к индейцам хоти в венесуэльскую Амазонию. С тех пор я совершил ряд экспедиций к индейцам Амазонии и Оринокии. Материалы экспедиций явились основой для создания серии научно-популярных книг «У индейцев в лесах Амазонки и Ориноко». В книге «Среди индейцев Центральной Венесуэлы» описываются события и приключения, происходившие со мной во время экспедиций к индейцам хоти, ябарана, пиароа, панаре и мако.
