جاء هذا الكتاب "التحليل النفسي لشخصية نزار قباني" حافلا بآراء علماء نفس مرموقين مثل فرويد ويونج يؤيد به الكاتب وجهات نظره في تحليل شخصية نزار، فلا ينقصه لهذه الجهة مثل هذه العودة إلى الأدبيات المعروفة في علم النفس، وهو يحصر همه، في الكتاب عن نزار، في بسط آرائه حول جانبين في شعر نزار: جانب الشعر العاطفي الذي بدع فيه الشاعر، وجانب الشعر السياسي الذي كان مثار جدل صاخب بين دارسيه ومتلقيه. وقد كان للشاعر موقف من هذا الشعر في السنوات القليلة التي سبقت رحيله إذ أعلن في حوار له مع مجلة الهلال المصرية أنه طلق تمامًا هذا الجانب في شعره وأنه لن يخطّ بعد اليوم بيتًا واحدًا فيه.
