هناك أدب القصة، نجده في ذلك العدد الوافر من القصص، وفي بعضها يتحدث بطل كثير الأسفار عن مخاطراته، كقصة البحار الغريق، وما تعرض له من أخطار في جزيرة الثعابين الخرافية. وقصة "سنوهي" التي ذاعت شهرتها واستفاضت قروناً عدة، وهي تصف هروبه من البلاد وقضاءه عشرات السنين بين رجال البدو السوريين، وما ناله من حظوة هناك لدى زعيمهم الذي زوجه من ابنته الكبرى وأعطاه قطعة أرض من خير أملاكه. فلما أدركته الشيخوخة كان يتحرق شوقاً للعودة إلى بلاده مصر، فكتب ملتمساً للملك بذلك لكي يسمح له بالعودة إلى مصر "ليرى المكان الذي يتجه قلبه إليه لأنه ليس هناك ما هو أعظم من أن يدفن جسد المرء في البلد الذي ولد فيه"، وقد تحققت أمنيته وعاد مكرماً إلى بلاده.
