يقول المعترض ما يلى:رحلة الاسرة المقدسة لمصر هى من ادعاءات متى البشير بينما رواية لوقا تكذبها حيث ان العائلة المقدسة لم تغادر أرض فلسطين الى أى مكان.المعترض يوضح اعتراضه بقوله انه بحسب انجيل متى فإن العائلة المقدسة سافرت الى مصر عقب ميلاد الطفل مباشرة, اما بحسب انجيل لوقا فان العائلة المقدسة صعدت الى اورشليم بعد ان اتمت مريم العذراء أيام تطهيرها حسب شريعة موسى ليقدموه للرب ويقدموا ذبيحة وبعدها رجعوا الى الناصرة ولم يذهبوا الى مصر.
