حياة الإسكندر كلها عجبمن المهد إلى اللحد. فتى حيا العشرين من عمره يفكر في محاربة أعظم ملك بسط سلطانه على أكبر إمبراطورية في عالم ذلك الزمان فيخرج من بلاده بجيش لا يزيد عدد جنوده على 40 ألفا فيبسط سلطانه على أوروبا، وآسيا، وأفريقيا في ثلاث عشرة سنة .
قال أحد مؤرخيه إنه لما مات الإسكندر كان جسمه في أرض آسيا، وفكره كان يحلق في سماء أوروبا. .لا يدري إلا الله ماذا تكون إمبراطورية الإسكندر لو أَنَافَ عمره على ثلاث وثلاثين سنة.
ما أبلغ ما قاله مؤرخ في الإسكندر، وفي فعاله:قال في الإسكندر "أن مجده، واسمه بلغًا عنان السماء"
وقال في فعاله أنها فعال جبابرة يقتضي تحقيقها عدة قرون:
