سماحة البحاثة آية الله الدکتور الشیخ محمّد صادق محمّد الکرباسي
ینتمی إلى مالک بن الحارث الأشتر النخعي. من أسرة علمیة عریقة. مسقط رأسه مدینة کربلاء المقدسة – العراق . ولد فی 5/12/1366 هـ (20/10/1947م.( تخرّج من الحواضر العلمیة في کربلاء و النجف و طهران وقم. زود بعدد من الشهادات في الإجتهاد و الروایة و غیرهما. نال شهادة الدکتوراه فی الابداع من دمشق و باریس و شهادة الدکتوراه فی قانون (الشریعة) من الولایات المتحدة بالاضافة الی شهادة الدکتوراه من الجامعة ذاتها فی العلوم الاسلامیّة. مارس التدریس والتألیف والتحقیق الی جانب مهام دینیة و اجتماعیة. سکن العراق وإیران ولبنان وسوریا والمملکة المتحدة. تجاوزت مؤلفاته المائة عنوان توجها بدائرة المعارف الحسینیة التی تجاوزت اجزاؤها الستمائة بالاضافة الی سلسلة الشرایع التی قد تصل الی الالف، والتفسیر الذی یقع فی ثلاثین مجلداً. له بحوث و مقالات نشرت في مختلف الصحف. حقق العدید من المصنفات العلمیة. أسس و شارک فی تأسیس نحو أربعین مؤسسة في أکثر من ثمانیة اقطار. شارک في عدد من القضایا الفکریة و الإجتماعیة. فقیه أصولی، ادیب شاعر الی جانب کونه عروضیاً مبدعاً فی معظم العلوم. وردت ترجمته فی العدید من المعاجم.
Mohammad Sadiq Al-Karbassi was born on 20th October 1947 (5th ZilHijjah 1366 A.H.) in the Holy City of Kerbela, Iraq. He is from a renowned family and graduated from established academic institutions of Kerbela, Najaf, Teheran and Qum; he has also lived in Iraq, Iran, Lebanon and Syria, now residing in the United Kingdom. Al-Karbassi has practiced teaching, authorship, research and Imamate, along with practicing the teaching Islamic bodies of knowledge in different cultural metropolitan cities. He has been the founder, or took part in founding, some forty institutions.
Al-Karbassi is the author of a line of Islamic books with the lead of his work being the Hussaini Encyclopedia. His work on the Hussaini Encyclopedia commenced in 1987, and he has not stopped since, this work has mounted up to over 600 hand-written volumes with 135 volumes so far being published (2022). This Hussaini Encyclopedia covers subjects relating to the 3rd Holy Imam, Imam Hussain. These subjects include: various pieces of poetry, history of the shrines, Islamic legislation, the Hussaini Biography and many more.
Along with the Hussaini Encyclopedia, Al-Karbassi has published books on Islam in different countries, Islamic Legislation relation to different aspects of life, his family history, explanation of parts of the Quran and more. His work has exceeded hundreds with his work being published in various magazines and articles and his biography being cited in numerous reference books.
