‘Sapna dhun’ is ‘N. G. Thute's’ collection of poems in Zadi dialect of Marathi. In the four districts of Bhandara, Gondia, Gadchiroli and Chandrapur in the far east of Maharashtra, this rich dialect is spoken by 40-45 lakh people. The author proudly says about her, “The fragrance of Zadi Boli, spreaded far and wide, across Pune and Mumbai, & her tone gives joy to everyone”. Each of the poems in this dialect has the power to keep the reader engrossed in many memories of his village, the soil, the river, the flowers & orchards etc. The inseparable relationship of the poet with the soil and the land reminds reader of their villages.
