平成29年１月１日より新たに運用が始まったセルフメディケーション税制は、適切な健康管理の下で医療用医薬品からの代替を進める観点から、健康の維持増進および疾病の予防への取組みを行う方々に向けて創設されたものです。
おおまかに言えば、１年間に医療用医薬品から転換された市販薬（スイッチOTC医薬品）の購入代金の合計が１万2,000円を超えた場合、申告することで所得から控除を受けることが可能になるというもの。
制度を利用できる金額が、大幅に下がったため、病院などにはあまり行かずに（あるいは、行く時間が取れずに）、市販の薬を使用することが多い方などには、うれしい制度と、いえます。
もっとも、そのためには、いくつか制限や条件がありますので、本書を読んで準備してください。
