毛澤東死了之後，中共曾作出決議，將文革定性為一場“災難”和“內亂”。但這個黨至今拒絕任何形式的文革反思。並沒有就此承認這是黨犯下的一個錯誤，也沒有向全國百姓道歉，而且，1986年，中宣部發文嚴禁文革話題的討論和研究。
中共幾乎所有的領導人，即使在文革中被打倒者，也極少沒有推動、參與文革，而且他們被打倒時被揭露出的問題，例如生活腐敗、醜陋歷史，並非全是造反派構陷，以致他們每個人都難以經得住深究。
他們至今仍將文革發動者奉為精神領袖，毛仍然是中共神壇供奉的偶像，毛思想仍是中共執政的指導思想。
更為重要的是，今天當局運用的政治邏輯、價值和語言系統，與文革期間沒有本質差別，政治體制的核心原則、構件沒有改變，還是共產黨領導一切、控制一切，仍然不接受任何監督。現在我們又聽到了文革的腳步聲。
