从上世纪90年代中期，侯德云开始跻身于小小说创作领域，几年间便成为数质兼优的佼佼者。近期的创作，愈显大家气度。我一直以为，德云深受我国传统文化的熏陶和影响，在遣词造句和写作技法上，处处可见古人笔意。表现形式上虽极尽其变化，但终究还是很“中国的”。比如那种略带白描意味的语言叙事方式，把如影相随般携带的对国人劣根性的批判，坚实地融入自己的精神指向。这其实是需要功夫的。语言是形式的仰仗，思想是内容的基石。只要是熟读古典名著尤其唐诗的人，大约会被古人娴熟的写作技巧所折服。因为在貌似简单重复的起承转合、炼句、炼字的结构里，蕴涵着多少才华、智慧和充满个性的迸发、闪烁啊。所谓的一字千金有画龙点睛之效，平地春雷有波涛立见之功。
