《列女傳》，是一部介紹中國古代婦女行為的書籍，也有觀點認為該書是一部婦女史。作者是西漢的儒家學者劉向。
《列女傳》共分七卷，共記敘了105名婦女的故事。這七卷是：母儀傳、賢明傳、仁智傳、貞順傳、節義傳、辯通傳和孽嬖傳。西漢時期，外戚勢力強大，宮廷動蕩多有外戚影子。劉向認為「王教由內及外，自近者始」，即王教應當從皇帝周邊的人開始教育，因此寫成此書，以勸諫皇帝、嬪妃及外戚。《列女傳》選取的故事體現了儒家對婦女的看法，其中有一些所讚揚的內容在現在的多數人看來是對婦女的不公平的待遇。
《列女傳》對後世影響很大。有一些故事流傳至今，如「孟母三遷」的故事即出自該書。後來，中國的史書多有專門的篇章記敘各朝婦女事迹，隨著婦女觀的變化，各朝側重記敘表彰的婦女德行也有所不同。（維基百科）

About the author
劉向（前77年－前6年），字子政，原名更生，漢朝宗室，沛縣人。著有《別錄》、《新序》、《說苑》、《列女傳》、《洪範五行傳》、《五紀論》等書，並且編訂了《戰國策》、《楚辭》。劉向曾官中壘校尉，故世稱劉中壘。明人張溥輯有《劉中壘集》，收入《漢魏六朝百三家集》中。又有賦33篇，今僅存《九歎》一篇。子為經學家劉歆。（維基百科）
