作者作為小學教學現場的老師，鑑於目前的閱讀教學現況不甚理想，學生的閱讀內容也有所偏頗，希望從閱讀傳統文學作品中讓孩子真正瞭解屬於我們的傳統文化及歷史，成為一個有深度人文素養及審美能力的人，並樂在其中。在「創造的轉換」的思維下，以唐傳奇作為閱讀教學的念頭乃應運而生。以唐傳奇作為輔助教學的教材，可引導學生閱讀理解唐傳奇文本後，再利用讀者劇場化、故事劇場化、舞臺劇化、相聲劇化等戲劇化的具體作法，加以詮釋並讓學生主動參與改編。透過這樣的戲劇性教學活動安排，可以讓學生樂於閱讀並深化閱讀內容，彌補正式課程的缺點而強化語文教學效果。【秀威資訊科技股份有限公司製作】
