「世新」是中華民國首創廣電科及電影科的學府之一，自民國五十一年開辦以來，歷經各種學制，在民國八十年改制成學院，合併廣電科及電影科為視聽傳播學系，下分為廣播組、電視組及電影組，民國八十六年改制城大學之後，更名為「廣播電視電影學系」。
