本书运用美国文化学者爱德华·萨义德(edwardsaid)的理论旅行(travelingtheorv)概念、以色列翻译理论家伊塔马·埃文一佐哈尔(itamareven-zohar)的多元系统理论(polysystemtheory)，以及比较文学的宏观研究视角与描述翻译学的相关理论言说，详细探讨了寒山诗的语内旅行、语际旅行及其在英语世界与故国文学史中的经典建构历程，以期在最大程度上还寒山诗之真正面目。
本书旨在将寒山诗置于一个连贯的全球语境中来进行系统研究。因此，在适当兼顾中国文学多元系统的“纵向”研究的同时，将研究重心置于寒山诗的“横向”影响研究并由此探讨意义深远的“寒山现象”的形成与发展，以及它对于翻译研究、旅行研究、经典建构及中国翻译文学史书写的重要启示。
About the author
胡安江，四川外语学院教授，翻译学博士。四川外语学院外国语文研究中心兼职研究员，中山大学英美语言文学研究中心兼职研究员，重庆市翻译学会理事，中．国戏剧家协会会员。先后就读于四川外语学院、中山大学、香港浸会大学和南京大学，获文学学士．文学硕士和翻译学博士学位，其问访学香港浸会大学林思齐东西学术交流研究所和英国爱丁堡大学。主要研究方向为翻译与文化、诗歌翻译研究及西方汉学家研究等。获“重庆市高校优秀中青年骨干教师”等荣誉；并入选首批重庆市社会科学专家库。主持并独立完成国家社科基金项目1项，在《中国翻译》、《外国文学研究》．《中国比较文学》等刊物发表学术论文30余篇。
