透過專利分析，發現我國在美專利獲准數逐年增加，然而我國專利數量雖多，但高影響力專利相較之下卻比較少。在國際合作上，我國專利跨國技術合作的比例仍然偏低，最主要的合作發明國家為美國與中國。利用各種統計技巧，將各式研究所產出的數據與相關文獻中的資訊進行解析，了解現有技術現況與未來發展趨勢。本文採用專利計量學方法，透過USPTO以深入了解主要競爭國家在各技術領域上的發展趨勢，期能促進台灣科學技術決策體系的發展。
