本書以「文學中的城市」為方法，探討大陸十七年文學的城市表述問題，並借此展開對「革命之後」社會主義文化危機的探索。論文不僅探討了「從鄉村到城市」這個中國革命的基本命題，以及社會主義遭遇城市「市民社會」的理論難題，還著重論述了解放的敍述中，中共城市改造及其文學表述的現代意義。其中尤為重要的討論在於呈現了城市的空間變革中，消費主義與革命宏大話語之間的矛盾與裂隙，以及這種墮落的“消費城市”不得不通過“生產城市”的文學建構而得以救贖的現實。總之，通過考察「社會主義文學」與「城市」這個資本主義「場域」之間衝突、順應、分野的意識形態聚合過程，剖析了「革命之後」社會主義意識形態的內在矛盾和焦慮。【秀威資訊科技股份有限公司製作】

徐剛，1981年生於湖北，北京大學中文系文學博士，中國藝術研究院助理研究員，主要從事中國當代文學史研究。近年來在《文藝理論研究》、《文藝爭鳴》、《南方文壇》、《文藝理論與批評》等刊物發表學術論文數十篇。
