雖然王金平至今尚未鬆口參選總統，但陸空軍齊動，逐步為參選造勢加溫。這位本土藍領袖，所有動作都指向進攻總統府。
在接受《新新聞》專訪中，王金平表白他從馬王政爭、太陽花事件一路至考慮參選總統的心路歷程。
而在綠營這邊，在總統蔡英文幾度慰留下，賴清德還是辭掉行政院長一職，離職前講話還送出「有總統高度」的修憲議題。
在賴清德宣布總辭的記者會上，蔡英文給了賴一個大大擁抱。「這個擁抱，一切盡在不言中。」蔡英文事後在臉書上寫道。在政治路上，小英能不能把賴神「攬牢牢」？
小英心中一直有一套培養賴神的計畫，就看休息過後的賴點不點頭。這個計畫是要把賴神送進總統府……。
