有些技術是日新月異，有些卻歷久常新。《旗袍裁縫法》1966年5月初版，至今年剛好是五十年了，在五十年間時裝潮流變化很大，而最能展現東方女性美態的旗袍卻一直有不可取代的地位。今天我們復刻這本書的意義在保育傳統文化，再現工藝生活，讓手作技藝代代傳承。雖已歷經多年，本書內容仍具相當的實用價值，尤其是旗袍的式樣、裁剪及縫紉技巧，這些均屬一門深奧的學問。是次重印復刻版，除了紀念昔日香港當年情，同時以圖片解述箇中手作竅門，深入淺出教授一般的裁剪知識、尺寸量度和繪製紙樣方法，自己動手縫製旗袍也不會太困難。就算是已經擁有絕版原書的讀者，仍有將其收藏置於書架上的價值。
