《挺經》是曾國藩生前的一部「壓案之作」，用李鴻章的話說，這部書是「精通造化、守身用世」的秘訣。所謂「挺」，即勢不可用盡，功不可獨享，大名要推讓幾分，盛時要做衰時想，剛柔相濟，無為而無不為；百尺竿頭，不能再進一步；欠缺本身就是完美。曾國藩以蓋世之功而能於眾說詆毀中安然保全自身，全賴這一「挺」字。主動、積極、謙虛，以出世之心來入世，在困厄中求出路，在苦斗中求挺直。如此方能不受困、不為他人左右，到達氣定神閑地享受人生之至高境界。
曾國藩，晚清名臣，清朝戰略家、政治家，晚清散文「湘鄉派」創立人。晚清「中興四大名臣」之一，官至兩江總督、直隸總督、武英殿大學士，封一等毅勇侯，謚曰文正。著有《治學論道之經》《持家教子之術》《冰鑒》《曾文正公全集》《曾國藩家書》等作品。（博客來）
