從青年到成年是個人生命歷程中具流動性和不確定性的一段，其軌跡是國家、家庭和個人共同作用的結果。自改革開放以來，國家政策對生命歷程的影響減少，造成了成年軌跡的風險化和個人化，加劇了階層差異。本書以社會變遷為背景，通過對50后、60后、70后和80后成年軌跡的比較，討論自改革開放以來成年軌跡的變化，關注成年軌跡的階層分化特征。
