作者是從西元2000年開始，在「葉子湖」隱居閉關，而至寫此書時已經六年了經過這幾年閉關修行，他已有成就，在每日禪定之中，均入「三昧」，神行悠悠到不同境界，因此領悟了許多的境界。然而他發覺一件很特別的事，令他自己驚訝異常的。 他入「三昧」中，不知是「三昧」，像夢。「證量」出現了，「神通變化了」，這些更像夢。去了「天河勝景處」，天河勝景處像夢。去了「諸天」，諸天是善夢。去了「三惡道」，地獄、餓鬼、畜生是惡夢。活著時候，像夢。「神行」中，更像夢。 如同王安石的詩：知世如夢無所求。無所求心普空寂。還似夢中隨夢境。成就河沙夢功德。世間全是夢幻一場，在這方面人人知之。功名富貴如浮雲，人人知之。但，令他驚訝的是：除人世間如此，六道、四聖是不是夢啊？恍然!!也是夢。本書作者就將他神行的覺受告訴讀者，讓讀者們去參，原來出世間入世間都是夢。
