書中介紹了燕禮（古代貴族閒暇時飲酒之禮）、食禮（招待賓客的食宴之禮）和祭禮（祭祀祖先之禮），以及籩豆、祭食、三種牢禮、為賓客親設醬之禮、俎肉升載、祭禮進食餘食象徵受福……等等，除了讓讀者認識周代飲食文化，也藉此傳達了飲食禮儀的基本知識。
本書為［香港都會大學人文社會科學院創意藝術學系．學生作品集］，除周代小貓柑仔的《禮貓傳》外，隨書另附DVD，特別收錄５部活潑的延伸動畫，包含〈士冠禮〉、〈士昏禮〉、〈鄉射禮〉以及「日常禮儀」（學校篇、辦公室篇），冀望大小讀者都能將禮儀應用在現實生活之中！
