第二屆「全球泛華青年劇本創作競賽」自2015年12月1日起開放線上收件，至2016年2月29日截止，收到來自全球共百餘件投稿，經過三輪評審的熱烈討論後，於2016年9月正式宣告第二屆前三名的精采作品。
首獎由來自廣州的胡璇藝獲得，其作品《一種旁觀》描述現代人面對真實災難的疏離與無力。《一種旁觀》的故事背景設定為汶川震災，但內容並非描寫災難片常見的人性光輝，而是刻劃速食訊息氾濫的自媒時代，「民胞物與」的政治正確的蒼白與涼薄。除了直指當代社會的矛盾，也因劇本形式精準，對於劇場美學有獨到的見地，在國際14位評審共三輪評選中過關斬將，並獲得另外兩位決審委員紀蔚然、童偉格的一致青睞。
二、三獎分別由現居美國的劇作家Lin Tu和朱宜獲得。Lin Tu 的I Love My Family以鬼魅般氣氛描繪當代中國一胎化政策、隔代教養下家庭失能的悲劇。朱宜的作品Noise以中國人在紐約的炒房熱為題，延續其輕快詼諧的喜劇語言與移民母題，以充滿批判性的幽默口吻直觀跨國時代當代中國所面對的內在焦慮。全書皆為中英雙語，並收錄有讀劇演出全本影片，以供讀者體驗文字之外的劇本魅力。
