一九六二年生於小金門，高中畢業後負笈來台。先後就讀文化大學史學系、輔仁大學歷史研究所，一九九四年獲文化大學史學博士。現任義守大學通識教育中心教授。著有《清末民初美國在華的企業投資》、《民族主義：理論與類型》、《金門行業文化史》、《金門地方書寫與研究書目彙編》、《夢回笠嶼》等書。
