序
毛詩三百篇，以「關睢」冠於首篇，何也？主要在訓女也。夫自古而今，不論帝王、公侯將相、君子大夫、販夫走卒，莫不由母德發祥開始，所以，婦女者對於社會之風氣，國家之興敗，其關係深矣。
男子以修身齊家為第一要義，女子則以克盡婦道為首要原則，故婦德賢慧與否，其與國家禍福，關係至為密切，然而，女子之善德，當從小開始，為人父母者，必先培育其德性，使之習於母性，嫻淑內涵，歸嫁後，方能宜室宜家，不辱家風，可見女子貴於家教與庭訓，是明確不變的事實也。
奈何，今日為人家長者，不立家教，不嚴管訓，使子女趨於浮華，只圖淫佚享樂，舉止乘違，三從不遵，四德不守，敗壞倫常，厭棄古訓經學，崇尚西方惡風，使得社會風氣日漸頹靡，世俗善良日偷，婦道於焉掃地，能不愓畏乎！
上天不忍坐視，不得不急起挽回，故敕命著造淺顯易懂訓女之書，一則用以彌補古訓女文文辭深奧不易瞭解之弊憾，二則用以補助母教之不及與勸懲，盼此書一出，天下婦女能勉勵遵行，去除以往種種不良之陋習，同登覺路，共迷津，以達昇平之境，豈不美哉！是為序。
