趙久安，一九三八年出生在英國倫敦一個「中華民國」駐英外交官的家庭。一九四六年隨父母姐妹一起回國。不久全面內戰暴發，一九四九年他的父親隻身去了台灣。由於他的特殊「家庭出身」給他的一生帶來許多坎坷。一九八三年在香港和離別三十四年的父親重聚，一九八六年赴港定居，二○○一年移居美國。作者以前從未有著作，這是他在親朋好友及家人的鼓勵之下，第一次寫出他的故事。
