臺灣橋梁因天然環境因素，遭受洪水與地震等災害時倒塌或斷裂的機率極高。尤其災害一旦發生，對於公路之影響更為嚴重，造成災民之生命財產損失亦難以估計。為此，本所於94、95年委託研究計畫「交通工程防災預警系統建立之研究」，並逐年擴充建置台灣公路早期防救災決策支援系統(Taiwan Road Early Nature Disaster prevention Systems，TRENDS)。考量到橋梁防災分析與評估方法逐年修正，本計畫擬針對以下不同領域進行系統模式更新、提高分析準確度，並確認系統實用性及穩定性，包括:(1)初擬鋼結構橋梁維護分析模式之架構、(2)橋梁整體耐震能力評估模式擬定、(3)橋梁振動檢測案例分析、(4)確認災後橋梁巡檢路線規劃模式考量因子與步驟、(5)與公路總局既有系統介接。
