心性


心,不是心臟之心,是心思思之心,所以心是思維。心念如瀑布,湍流不息,無時或停。性是性格,性是有生俱來,含藏不動。


心與性是二而一,一而二,其分別知在於一動一靜。猶如水之與波,水平如鏡,清澈可照。然因風起浪,則波濤起伏,洶湧不停。性猶止水也,如春水一池,寂然無動。心猶波也,從念生風,由欲起浪。所謂心猿意馬,動蕩不停就是指此。


學佛人士首重修心,要使心中妄念止息,一心不動。能修到不動心,即能回復本來之性。猶如風止波平,即能回復水之靜態也。學佛求明心見性,就是此理。



心念


心隨念轉,念可縛心。可知心是常受外境之影響,被動而不能自主。


正心篇云:「住則生心」。住者住著。念秧住著在心中,生根茁芽,妄念頻生。所謂心有掛礙,其心必生。則心不能清靜,不靜即惑,有惑則迷。


心最好無念。但即使有念,能不住,就可還原。故無論發生任何念頭,切不可把念秧住著心內。來者自來,去者自去,空無所住,則心可回復清靜。


儆修篇有云:「不怕念起,只怕覺遲」。凡夫有七情六欲,實在不易不起念。如能有念即覺,就可不住生心。覺者醒覺,對念頭想一想,想通想透,研究後果,後果一明,其心自覺。故覺乃止念良方。
