在冷戰陰雲籠罩的上世紀五六十年代，香港因特殊的殖民政策而游離於中國大陸與台灣的政治之外。放逐於政治意識形態邊緣的香港文學，不但生長出不同於中國現代文學敘事傳統的城市文學，更在此一失落與追尋中逐漸完成一套極富特色的文學╱藝術敘述模式，而這套敘述模式的起點，正始於五六十年代風行一時的現代主義思潮與文學實踐。 本書從香港現代文學美術協會入手，以社團整體訴求為經，以崑南、王無邪、葉維廉、李英豪、蔡炎培等藝術家前後的境遇、經歷及創作為緯，編織第一代本土作家以來，「現代主義」與香港文學建構的譜系。本書掌握了大量第一手的資料，以史料實證觀點，揭示香港現代文學美術協會這一當年香港最重要的文學團體，與五六十年代香港文學流變之關係，填補了香港現代主義研究之空白。
About the author
鄭蕾 嶺南大學中文系博士，現於香港浸會大學任職講師。從事香港文學研究、中國現代文學研究、史料研究，研究成果散見於《東華漢學》、《文藝理論研究》、《中央大學人文學報》、《魯迅研究月刊》等刊物。曾主編香港現代作家作品選集《崑南卷》。
